Baseline Command in AutoCAD
The baseline command in AutoCAD is used to create a series of dimensions that are aligned to a common baseline or starting point. This command is helpful when you need to dimension multiple objects from the same reference point, ensuring that all dimensions are consistent and aligned to a single baseline.
To use the baseline command:
- Type DIMBASELINE in the command line or select the "Baseline" dimension tool from the ribbon.
- Pick the starting point for the baseline dimension (this will be the reference point for all subsequent dimensions).
- Select the objects or points you want to dimension from the baseline.
- Place the dimension and continue adding additional dimensions from the baseline as needed.
The baseline command ensures that all dimensions in a series are consistent, helping to create more organized and accurate drawings.
