Break Command in AutoCAD

The break command in AutoCAD is used to divide an object into two parts by removing a portion of it. It is typically used to shorten or split a line, polyline, arc, or other objects by breaking them at a specific point.

To use the break command:

  1. Type BREAK or BR in the command line.
  2. Select the object you want to break.
  3. Specify the first break point on the object.
  4. Specify the second break point, or press Enter to break the object at the first point only.

This command is useful when you need to split or shorten objects without deleting any part of them.
