Blocks Command in AutoCAD
The blocks command in AutoCAD is used to create a block, which is a collection of objects that are combined into a single, reusable unit. Blocks help streamline drawing creation by allowing you to reuse the same set of objects multiple times without having to redraw them.
To create a block using the blocks command:
- Type BLOCK in the command line.
- In the "Block Definition" dialog box, enter a name for the block.
- Specify the base point for the block, which will serve as the reference point when inserting the block into the drawing.
- Select the objects to include in the block.
- Choose whether to convert the selected objects into a block or keep them as individual objects.
- Click OK to create the block.
Once created, blocks can be inserted into the drawing as needed, saving time and improving consistency in your designs.
