Dimension Command in AutoCAD

The dimension command in AutoCAD is used to create measurements of objects in a drawing, such as length, angle, radius, or diameter. It is essential for adding precise measurements to your drawing, making it easier to communicate sizes and relationships between objects.

To use the dimension command:

  1. Type DIM or select a dimension tool from the ribbon.
  2. Select the object or points you want to dimension. Depending on the type of dimension, you may click on endpoints, midpoints, or centers.
  3. Set the dimension style and properties, such as text size and arrow style, in the properties palette or dimension style manager.
  4. Click to place the dimension on the drawing.

The dimension command helps in creating accurate and clear annotations that ensure your drawing is easy to interpret and follow.
