Explode Command in AutoCAD

The explode command in AutoCAD is used to break a compound object into its individual components. This command is helpful for editing or modifying parts of blocks, polylines, or other composite objects separately.

To use the explode command:

  1. Type EXPLODE or X in the command line.
  2. Select the object you want to explode.
  3. Press Enter to complete the process.

After exploding, the compound object is separated into its basic elements, which can then be edited individually.
